UTP Invests in the Future

Due to our continued growth and the demands of our customers both existing and prospective, UTP has recently invested in not one but three new machines at their custom built premises at Lee on the Solent, Hampshire.

Our Cylindrical Grinding Machine, the Ultramat Easy Grind Universal arrived at the beginning of the year.  It has been a welcome addition to our busy grinding section and has allowed us to increase our internal capacity and save on the need for sub-contract work.  A further two Mazak machines were ordered in March 2019.  This brings our portfolio of Mazak machinery on site to a total of twenty two.  Managing Director Alan Knox commented ” We have bought one Quickturn Compact 300MSYL dual spindle live tooling lathe with smooth control and one Quickturn Compact 200MSYL dual spindle live tooling lathe with smooth control.  The machines have been purchased to help us to keep up with the demands of our customers and up to date with the latest technology.  Both machines will give us extra capacity and more flexibility, which will in turn help us to improve our efficiencies.  It will also help us attract future projects”.

Both the new Mazak machines will be installed in mid-May.
